| The dhow race began and it took them thirty five minutes to complete the distance of approximately five kms at the Bagamoyo beach on Saturday afternoon. The race was organized by Zanzibar International Film Festival and sponsored by ComNet. |

| The heated arguments by forty crew members all claiming to have finished FIRST in the five kms race. The judges, in order to maintain a peaceful situation, adjudicated that "all were winners and everybody shared equal amount of the TShs. 1,000,000/=" |
