The eight-month old Bagamoyo Jogging Club with a strong membership of almost 150 members, strongly condemned the atrocity against the Albinos, a class of people suffering from disorder of skin pigmentation.

The campaign was launched by the club during their regular jogging sessions attended by the Minister for Education and Vocational Training Dr. Shukuru Jumanne Kawambwa who is also the Member of Parliament for Bagamoyo Constituency. The presence of the Minister among the smartly dressed Joggers, all in blue track suits, was a great boost to the up-coming club.

A banner condemning the atrocities was at the site and the presence of  an Albino Jogger, Mussa S. Kamota was obvious among the many joggers.

Dr. Kawambwa has promised the members to organize a short seminar or a talk to be given by a trade officer in line with self-reliance and how to start small business on self employment basis. He gave encouraging remarks  to all members and asked them to keep up with the good work they were doing
The attention of the local residents and nearby villages, is now practically spreading very fast . Their first place to spread the  “jogging culture” was at a nearby village called Kitopeni and  on Sunday  (19th April) they will be jogging at a small village Buma near Kiromo, a few kms before reaching Bagamoyo. They have been requested officially by the Counsellor of Kiromo Hassan Wambe.

The club’s motto is “Health, Employment & Development”. The club Chairman Abdallah with his Secretary, are busy on registering the club and the initiative to process the club’s constitution is with the Bagamoyo Cultural Officer.

The blue track suits is the club’s uniform and every member pays for the outfit at TShs. 13,000/=. Other expenses like travelling to nearby villages is also born by individual members. Children above the age of twelve are allowed to join the club and younger ones must be accompanied with their parents in jogging sessions.
